About

Throughout my coaching career, one guiding principle has remained constant — helping athletes discover their potential and exceed their own expectations. Whether coaching high school wrestlers, college athletes, or my own children, I’ve always believed that success begins in the mind long before it’s reflected on the scoreboard.

From 2008 to 2018, I had the privilege of serving as Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Locust Valley High School. Over that decade, I saw tremendous growth in young athletes who learned to embrace challenge and discipline. While our program achieved recognition — including  seven straight Nassau County Division II  team championships  2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018. and a New York State Championship in 2014 — the true reward was watching athletes gain confidence and resilience that extended far beyond wrestling.

When I took on the role of Head Wrestling Coach at Stony Brook University (NCWA) from 2018 to 2023, my focus remained on developing the mindset required for sustained excellence. The results spoke for themselves. Wrestlers like Wayne Lamont (Stony Brook's first All-American, 3x )  and Katie Moore ( a 2x NCWA National Champion) exemplified what it means to commit fully to the process. Wayne’s growth and competitive success at the national level showed what discipline and belief can achieve, while Katie broke barriers in her own right, competing with heart, intelligence, and focus that elevated the entire team and bringing the program to new heights.

Their achievements weren’t simply the product of physical training — they came from mastering composure, consistency, and confidence. Those same traits are at the core of what I teach.

This philosophy also extends into my personal life. I’ve applied the same mindset system with my daughter, who has earned a place on the U-15 U.S. National Lacrosse Team . Watching her approach the game with calm focus, competitive drive, and a deep understanding of preparation has reaffirmed everything I believe about mental performance.

At its heart, my approach is simple: help athletes control what they can, stay composed when it matters most, and build belief strong enough to carry them past doubt and adversity. Championships are milestones — but the real victory comes when an athlete realizes they’re capable of far more than they ever imagined.
